This is my blog about my experiences in Korea. I would like to show you all that curiosities and cultural contrasts that I keep finding in my daily life in Seoul.
The city of Seoul has more than 20 bridges that cross its river, named Han River. I wouldn't dare to say any of them is spectacular, they are quite normal. You are not going to find any bridge as iconic as in San Francisco or any bridge as beautiful as Tower Bridge in London. They are just bridges, useful to cross the river, usually full of cars in a traffic jam or the metro. Nothing special... until I discovered Banpo Bridge.
If you go there during daytime Banpo Bridge is as ugly as all the other bridges. But if you go there at night you will be able to enjoy a show with water, light and music, everything together in a bridge. We have something similar in Barcelona, called Montjuic Fountain (a must go if you go there). But let's take a look closer!
One of the best places to watch the show is in a huge park near there, placed along the river. There are big grass esplanades that people use as a picnic area while watching the spectacle. Koreans are so cute when they are doing picnic because you could imagine you are watching a movie: they bring picnic blankets and food boxes (I think they only need the typical picnic basket for a perfect picture). The food is similar to that one we can see in Japanesse animation so often. But sometimes they don't prepare food in advance. What if you are watching the bridge and you suddently realise you are very hungry? Just call delivery service!
Pizzes, pollastre fregit, calamars a la romana... I Cervesa!
Pizza, fried chicken... and beer! In other countries is forbidden to drink in the street, but not here. Very convenient. Just call and they will come to the park and bring everything you need: chopstiks (I didn't dare to ask for a fork), napkins and food! But please don't try to call to the number in the photo: I think they still don't do delivery that far away.
After enjoying a nice meal it's time to take a walk to see a different view of the show: just cross the bridge and stop just below of the water tubes.
The shore you can see in the photo is were the park is placed. All this path along the bridge is only for pedestrians and bicycles. The motor vehicles have their place in the bridge above. There are 3 shows per day, so in only one visit you can enjoy all possible views. Besides this, there is a announcement over speakers that informs when the next show is going to start (and it's extremely useful if you are korean and speak korean very well). Anyway, the sight is beautiful.
For next time I want to take a Ferry Cruise that cross the bridge during the show, making sure that all the people on the deck have to run if they had already taken a shower that morning. Their strategy is the following one: they first cross when the show is in pause, and stop near the bridge to allow people to watch the show peacefully. When it is about to end they start moving again, this time towards all the falling water. The people quickly realise they have to run, and while smiling they rush to a room specially prepared to this end. These koreans have a very particular sense of humor!
I hope you enjoyed my touristic-guide-like post of today. Before saying goodbye let me add one of my tacky-pitty videos, not very well recorded, but that can help you to imagine better the ambience.
Ben aviat, més curiositats MADE IN COREA! Very soon, more curiosities MADE IN KOREA!
I quina particularitat té?
Today's mini-post talks about the subway line number 9 in Seoul. What's special with this line? Well, it's a private metro line. This means is built and operated by Seoul Metro Line 9 Corp., a private entity. The results are a better and more efficient line, but also significantly higher fares, which is still an on-going issue in Seoul.
But first things first, so let's take a look into the benefits of this line. It was opened on 2009. This photo above these lines (yes, the one where the author was still learning how to use Photoshop) is the one in the company's homepage, pretending to show that the metro is really fast. And it is fast indeed: there are both express trains and normal ones. The express trains, every 10 minutes, are particulary time-saving: they complete the 27km route in 30 minutes. In morining time driving a car or taking another metro line would mean a commuting longer than one hour.
As a private business, the stations are better designed: lots of plants, paintings and spaces for music and also only children's restroom (and even low hand straps for children in the carriage!). If you take a look on the oficial homepage you will consider seriously to change your habitual residence to one of these carriages (link line 9). But all these virtues will fly away from you memory when it's time to pay:
Agh! These additional 700 wons (something like 0.70$), make your ticket almost double-priced, compared to the other lines! (Keep in mind that the typical fare is 1050wons). We have something like this in Catalunya: it's called motorway and we have the priviledge of having there more and more expensive than in other parts of Spain. I just hope the Spanish government doesn't discover this of toll-metro lines, or next year we will have lots of them in Barcelona. Also in Seoul people are not happy with these fares: when the line was oppened it kept the same price as all the other lines for three years, but then they increased them, alleging a mounting deficit. There were a lot of problems and they drew back, but it's clear they rose fares again, and so far, no solution.
My conclusion: this is the typical example of what happens if you let private companies infiltrate in the public administration. But on the other hand, I guess it's not that bad that you have to pay double for spending half the time on the travel. I just hope this fantastic idea is not exported to Barcelona, because our metro covers a smaller area and is already much more expensive.
Today I would like to introduce Seoul's amusement park, Lotte World. Given that Seoul is such a big city, of course they needed an amusement park only for themselves (even Barcelona has one, so maybe, comparatively, Seoul would need 5 or 6, but they make do with one). Lotte world is placed south of the river. Since it seems I liked this of posting maps even if it's not necessary, here's the position of Lotte World, marked with the A, and my home, in the red cross.
Speaking in "Seoul" scale, this means it's pretty far, and your trip is going to take at least 40 minutes. Like all the stations here, this is a huge station, and it has a lot of underground shops. In Barcelona we have one station I used to think it was quite big but i totally changed my mind after seeing the korean stations (If you remember the Trevi Fountaint of the last post, it was inside this station!). Even american stations seem nothing now. A photo of one of the underground corridors that lead to the park.
In this case the station was connected with the entrance of the amusement park and with the Lotte department store...yes, Lotte again. Lotte World belongs to "Lotte" group, that has several department stores in Seoul. Not only this: they also have food brands (You can find Lotte choocolate in any supermarket!) and many other business.
It's a far cry from our amusement park, Universal Port Aventura, where in the entrance there's only the ticket boots and they put very exciting music, like in a movie, so you really think you are going to do something great. First thing you notice when you enter to Lotte World is:
It's an indoor park! (And in my opinion it was a nice decision, coincidentally that day was super cold)(like all the days). It could seem small (and it's small indeed), but when I took this photo I was in the 4th floor. All this floors are used for the entrances and lines of the attractions, restaurants and shops...everything put together like a Tetris. But I heard Seoul has good climate from time to time (I haven't seen it so I will have to trust that someone), so they also have they outdoors part.
Alguns exemples: It's inevitable that you notice this Disney-style castle where the bridge ends. To put it mildly I will say that Lotte World has taken some "ideas" from Disney Spirit, not only with the almost identical castle but also with the decorations and the performances that take place there. Some examples:
Desfilades (m'està semblant veure a l'Aladdin i la Jasmín?). Parades (is that Aladdin? Jasmeen?).
A big stage for the performances, mainly about dancing.
Besides this, like everywhere, huge amounts of merchandise, snacks everywhere and the kid's favourite character in Korea, Pororo, the blue penguin.
Consisteix en el següent: The creation of this brown character gave way to a new and very respected profession in Korea:
So while I was riding the carousel I could enjoy the view of this girl and three more people waving their hands with this cute thing in their hands. And as I advanced some posts before, this is the Spanish part of the park. The Churros are a typical spanish sweet snack. (have in mind that in spanish, spain is written with ñ: ESPAÑA. Just look carefully the flag please).
There were also cute shops (with spanish names). Everybody was wearing these hairbands: mouse ears, cat ears, bows...
Unfortunatelly that day it was super crowded so we only rode the carousel and...another one. But it was very cute! (What else should I say after wainting 2'30h for riding one single attraction?)
Hot-air balloons that allowed you to do sight-seeing inside the park. It was really nice! A pitty we had to wait for it thaaat long.
This is a ice skating ring! I'm not sure if t was included with the amusement park ticket because it's part of the underground Lotte deparment store, but anyway it can't be expensive.
About my personal opinion, I would say that is was a nice experience, but if you are searching for really exciting experiences you don't need to come here. The appearance is nice and there are many performances, so I think they search for family public. It's quite small but cozy, with all the spaces well-planned, and the indoor thing is a great idea. Besides, kids or teenagers can come here alone with metro. But if you come to Seoul for tourism, I don't recommend you to go there, it's not worth. It's cute and fun, but there are other more interesting things to do in the city. (But if it's too cold, come here, the temperature is nice!).
Ben aviat, més curiositats MADE IN KOREA! Very soon, more curiosities MADE IN KOREA!
As you know, some days ago I went to Lotte World (yes, that amusement park... I suddently remembered I'm suposed to be writting a post about it...I don't know why it's taking sooo long) and coincidentally I found a little fountain "hidden" over there.
Those of you who have been to Rome will quickly know that this is a copy (with some differences) of the Trevi Fountain! A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they will return to Rome soon (I threw a coin the first timeI went there and returned after 10 months, so I didn't throw a coin again...it was not necessary to return that often). Hundreds of visitors throw coins every day, and all this money is suposed to be destined to charity. The thing is that it was recently discovered that there's some local mafia is collecting the coins every morning, with the consent of some paid-off local authorities...No comments.
The location of this fountain in the korean capital is not similar to the italian real version, in a tiny square:
It's inside the metro station indeed! And it's not precisely small (also not full size, but I don't imagine something like this in any Barcelona metro station), so my conclusion is that koreans are really stylish. Take the Trevi fountain and put it in any Barcelona metro station and the result will be like this:
Not even half the cool the korean version is. A pitty. But I already know Spain is not well-known for being specially stylish. It's time to say goodbye, but just for in case you think that today's post was really short, let's play the differences game! (Actually I don't known how many of them there are, so comment how many did you find!)
While reading my blog perhaps a question popped up into your heads "Do koreans know about my country as much as I know about korea? (which in Spain would mean literally they know nothing). I beg pardon to those of you who are more educated than I am, but when I met my first korean one year and half ago I knew nothing about korea: only that there are two countries and they fought. For people like me, Korea remained hidden behind Japan and China, at least speaking about culture. But this is not what today's post it's about, because as you know this is not a deep blog (after a year living here I will have acquired the profundity of the asian, and then all my posts will be sensible and thoughtful, and any of my Spanish friends will read it anymore).
First of all I would like to talk about what korean know about my nation Catalonia, which is almost nothing. Only those who had come to Barcelona for vacation or met a Catalan heard about what's going on my country. But don't worry, maybe you already experienced how annoying a Catalan can be when he's trying to explain about Catalonia, and so am I, so I will try to bother any korean who dare say I'm spanish. But if one Catalan thing is worldwide famous that's...
Of course, that's the most international thing we have! And this is the reason why the FC Barcelona museum is the most visited in Barcelona. Here in korea they follow fervently the Champions League and all the teams who play there, which includes all the most important European teams, like FC Barcelona and...Real Madrid. And if there's one thing FCB fans hate, that's real Madrid, for both political and futbolistic reasons (ok it's true, we hate losing and Madrid is the second best team...we can't help that. But they started first!). So even in my university I had to endure the view of Real Madrid jackets and t-shirts (yuks...). Even more, in TV they always say FCB (and Mdrid) results in league, so I'm always totally informed. And luckily I still haven't found this about Real Madrid...
Yes yeeess that's Seoul and that's FCB equipation for 2012-13 season! So eventhough koreans don't realise, they already know something about Catalonia.
In korea in High School (where life is not like in the american musical) they study 17 subjects. With this amount of information to retain and regarding that one of this subjects is history of the world it's not strange they learned something about Spain. One day I was trying to remember the independance war (spain vs france) to tell to my boyfriend how it went but it turned out to be that was him who told me about that war. (No comments please)
And also because of that, I think that half of Korea had read our most famous book ever "The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha" or simply "Don Quixote" (for more information click here). But at least everyone here knows what this book written by Cervantes in the XVII century is. Last month they performed for the first time the musical "Don Quixote" in Seoul. I also found the translated version of Don Quixote in the bookstores.
And two weeks ago, in a very famous TV program they aired the video I posted below the next lines:
I si enteneu algo més, escribiu-ho a comentaris...jo encara li estic intentant treure l'entrellat! Exercice 1: (Did you know I am a teacher? Well, it seems I miss being one, let me be it again for a while): try to understand the Spanish words in this song "Don Quijote", "Sancho", "No Garcia" and "Señorita". The first two words are the names of the main characters of the novel, Garcia is the most common family name in Spain and Señorita means lady. And if you understand some other word please write on commentaries, I'm still trying to find out more! Exercice 2: Please, start the video at 5'02 and watch the video/skip/endure until 6'16!! You will see... At the beggining I put the singer talking during a little bit just because I want you to see his face...
Solucions: Exercici 1: Efectivament!! Answer: Exercice 1: The song talks about Don Quixote indeed! He says he would do anything for the beautiful woman he loves (the novel is about that), he would go until the end of the world...but...No garcia? Why? Well, just because as you know in Spain we all have two family names: or father's fist family name and our mother's first one. And the family name of this singer is No, so this skilled singer (who is not a singer but a showman) decided to call himself "Don Quijote No Garcia".
, només 3 segons vaaa!!): Exercice 2: For the second answer please watch this video (yes, it's Gangnam Style, I know, but just watch the right moment 1'56, so pleaaaase only 3 seconds!!)
Yeeeeah it's him! The very same hectic man!! I told you all the people who appeared in Gangnam style video were very famous in Korea. He calls himself Crazy boy (I can't understand why...(--')) and actually all the videos about him that I saw made me really think he is crazy, but also so funny! As you could have guessed his personal signature is that... dance?? (I would like to appologize to the Russian Ballet for this particular use of the word "dance" and to all the community of dancers) that koreans know very well.
This song comes from a TV program called Infinite Challenge where the showmen who appear there take new challenges every program. It's very funny and very succesful in Korea. I guess that if you understand what they are saying then it must be hilarious. In the same program where crazy boy performed there was another song I want you to listen to, because it's one of the new hits in Korea, almost the successor of Gangnam Style! Watch from 4'20!
You can listen to this song anywhere. Walking on the street you can hear it comming from the shops (it seems is legal in Korea for shops to put loud music for ¿attracting? clients), in the radio, in TV... And not only this song but "No Garcia"'s song is also very famous. This second song is called "GangBuk Dandy" and it obviously parodies Gangnam Style. If you remember (for doubts check my Post about Gangnam Style) Gang means river, Nam means south. In this case, Gang is river again, and buk means north. So if Psy was the hectic gentelman of south of the river, here we have the Dandy of the North Part.
As you must figured out in the last program of Infinte Challenge the challenge was performing a song, so all the showmen performed one. And all of them were created by the man who appears from time to time in the videos sitting far away from the stage. And actually, if you listen these songs a couple of times you will realise that they have nothing to envy to other stupid pop songs, and koreans also realised about this. The issue in Korea these days is whether the song writters should earn that much money for creating silly songs, when this man alone had created a bunch of songs out of nothing, and pretty good songs indeed.
But let's keep talking about today's topic. What else does the average korean know about Spain? You will not be surprised to know that they know all the clichés I'm sure you are also familiar with too. As a Catalan (and as a human being who doesn't like torturing animals) I'm sad to say that when koreans think about Spain they think about soccer, but after that they think about Bullfighting. Everytime I met someone new I realised they believe all spanish like bullfighting, so I have to make clear that catalans hate that and that bullfighting is prohibited in Catalunya. But don't worry, for me breaking topics is a pleasure :) . And after bullfighting, the other clichés: that we do siesta (midday nap) (who does this?? I would like to do it...just for trying...someday...?) everyday, that we all dance flamenco, that in our country we have very nice sunshine... (and this last one is true indeed...I miss my sunlight!!). But it's ok, because all clichés come from something. Of course it's parcially true, since those are things that are done somewhere in Spain, but it's just the commercial image they sold about Spain, like the tourist-sellers did in any other country.
Així que quan ahir vaig anar al parc d'atraccions Lotte World i vaig veure això But if I had to think about one place where all the clichés always meet, I would surely say an amusement park. In Catalunya we have our beloved Universal Port aventura, with very exotic parts such as China, Polynesia, Far West, Mexico and Mediterranean sea. Everytime I go there I think it's very nice and different. It looks so exotic! So maybe I shouldn't have been so surprised when I went to the amusement park in Seoul, Lotte World, and I found this:
Però la part realment impressionant era la que conduïa cap a fora, on podies contemplar: But I was so surprised. Of course it's very logic: if I think korea is exotic, maybe koreans could think Spain is exotic. But not even in my dreams I would have thought that Spain could be main topic for a part in an amusement park. The names of the shops are in Spanish (La paloma= the pigeon, Casa Marcos (Marco's house), Don Quixote (Of course)...) and the buildings resemble a lot to some spanish houses of the early 20th century, so it's quite nice. Sad to say that the food it's not spanish but korean. Besides, it's full of Spanish flags everywhere. But the impressive part comes when you try to go out, where you could find a quite nice reproduction of the mosque of Córdoba and the lions' fountain of the Alhambra of Granada (in one of its versions, because every year they discover that someone had put a new piece in the fountain at some moment of the history, and they remove, so it's like a chameleon fountain).
I will talk more about Lotte World in the next post (there's more), but it happened that when I returned yesterday from there I surrended to the need of changing this post to include what I discovered.
About Spanish food koreans don't really know a lot. If they travelled they know of course paella and sangria (mandatory food for tourists in Spain), but just that. There are three Spanish cuisine restaurants in Seoul, but I still haven't gone to any of them. I will keep you informed if someday I have the opportunity to go there. About spanish language, some hakwons (academies) teach it, but still too few. Some visionary parents list their kids to Spanish academy regarding the huge south american market. About catalan...well it's quite depressing but they don't know about it.
My conclusion is: don't worry if you don't know a lot about Korea, because neither do they about Spain or Catalunya. Ui... something went wrong... this was my conclusion for Catalan readers...! lLet me rephrace it! My (other) conclusion is: because and Spain and Korea haven't had a lot of contact through history, we don't know about each other. But I hope this will be soon changed, because now it's pretty easy to learn via internet. From this blog I will keep trying to show some of the news I keep finding, so we can learn them together. This is a very interesting country, full of contrasts, and I'm really looking forward learning about everything surrounding me.
Ben aviat, més curiositats MADE IN COREA! Soon, more curiosities MADE IN KOREA!
Bah...! No és res! Així que aquí us presento el meu particular article sobre Gangnam Style en que parlaré una mica sobre PSY (el nostre cantant grassonet preferit) i molt sobre Seül i el barri de Gangnam.
I know you were waiting for it... what kind of blog about Korea doesn't talk about Gangnam Style?(Maybe a interesting one? Maybe a cultural one?)Bah...! It's nothing! So today let me introduce to you my own version about Gangnam Style, in which I'm going to talk a little about PSY (our beloved chubby singer) and a lot about Seoul and Gangnam neighborhood.
I guess all of you guys have listened to the "Gangnam style" song. But just for in case, I'm going to post the link, for refreshing your memory. If you are already listening to this song in your head because your local radio is always playing it, I forgive you: you can just skip it. If not, I recommend to you to watch it one more time.
Jo mateixa no m'he pogut resistir!
I couldn't resist it... I watched it again! It's a different and fresh new song (yes, we call this freak, but I'm loving it (L)). Besides this, all the people who appear in the video are super famous in Korea (yes, even the crazy one in the elevator dancing like...). But maybe what many of you will not know is that the lyrics are directly related to the lifestyle in gangnam. Let's cast light on this:
"Gangnam style" is about how an exemplary boy and girl during the day let their hair down at night to be the life and soul of the party. The ideal girl, modest and natural, turns out to be super sexy during night. And about him, polite and educated at daytime, becomes a party-animal. To check the whole translation you can check this link: http://www.kpoplyrics.net/psy-gangnam-style-lyrics-english-romanized.html
So, this song not only talks about party, but also about some kind of hypocrisy that flows in the air. But first things first.
The gangnam district (we don't have this in Spain, but a district is a group of neighbourhoods, so you can imagine its size) it's placed south of the Han river. Gangnam means actually "River-South" so this time they named it very well (not like with Namsan tower!). It's one of the most wealthy districts in Seoul. But this is a very recent phenomenon, because it was kind of poor until some government plan change this situation. Something like 30 years ago, the price of the land started increasing and made rich all the owners of buildings. I was told that some people came here to pick up tadpoles when they were children. It was nice because I did same thing in Cervello (my hometown) when I was little. The only difference is that I still know were to find them in Cervello, but now Gangnam looks like this:
Yes, it looks quite similar to New York looked at it with Spanish eyes. A big avenye and big and crowded comercial streets. It also has a very nice restaurant and bars area, always full of young people. This makes Gangnam one of the meeting points of the city (like my beloved Myongdong). But if you come here by public transportation (and this it's my advice: don't try to park your car for free in Seoul), you will see that something is not...that perfect?
De què us penseu que van aquests anuncis...? Us donaré una altra pista. Just for in case you are so innocent as I was the first time I saw this, I'm going to give you another hint.
This advertisements are not about mere beauticians. They are advertising plastic surgery clinics. And there are not only one or two of them, but the whole station is covered by this kind of ads.
Quina sort eh? Només vull que intenteu recordar aquestes lletres: Just look at this girl. So lucky isn't she? She was ugly before and now... now she's nobody. But she's beautiful!! And the ads are just a portend about what you are going to find outside. Just try to remember these letters:
Yes, those in korean (--'). Well I will try to romanize the interesting part: seunghyongwegoa (Or something like this). I quickly knew what they meant (and not because I'm really good at studying korean) because...
All the buildings in that street showed the same letters. Each of the floors of these buildings are plastic surgery clinics, and the same for all the buildings of that street (and you wanna trust me: it's a long street). And actually all the surrounding streets look the same, until the comercial area, where only the most prestigious clinics are placed.
I was so surprised. It seems that Korea is a usual destination for "beauty trips" that not only include massages but also some plastic surgery (just for in case you got tired of your face. You know it's normal to be a little bored during some trips). Japanesse and Xinese are the prefered public, but also a lot of korean undergo plastic surgery for looking "better". Of course the most wanted surgery are the same here, but they also have tendency to "open" their eyes or make some retouch into their jaw.
But I also found some nice things! In Gangnam they are really concerned about our plannet, so they are researching about renewable energies. This is a new innovation in the field.
Bromes a part, el carrer comercial i de restaurants tenia molta gràcia i molts llocs interessants. Yes, my sense of humor is so refined... ;) But all bad jokes aside, the comercial and restaurants street was nice indeed, and had quite a lot of interesting places.
Bars, restaurants, les omnipresents cafeteries... Bars, restaurants, cafeterias...
Una bolera...
A bowling...
A wine restaurant. A nice little thing about Korea is that the wine is an exotique product, regarded as luxurious and refined. So of course the prices are according to this (which means expensive), and not many restaurants have wine in their menus. And maybe because they don't have their own wine-culture nor their own opinion about wine, they preffer sweet wines than dry ones, so common in Spain. In my opinion the problem is that they don't really like wine. But one of the most strangest combinations I've ever found is this:
Wine with cappuchino....yuks... I guess they put something to taste good, but it looks so poisonous...
I ara ja sé perquè...
You can find wine in almost every supermarket, but the thing is which wine and which price you have to pay for it. In the department stores you can find a huge variety of affordable wines, but in the small supermarkets or in the convenience stores you can only find 4 or 5 brands of wine, all comming from Xile or Australia. Any Spanish have ever heard about Xile wines? Not me! And nowI know why...
Another drink that the korean consume as an importation product is the beer! I found this:
Un pub irlandés! Però la sorpresa més gran me la vaig endur quan vaig arribar al final del carrer, on em vaig trobar la "Casa España".
An Irish pub! It felt like home!! But the biggest surprise was wainting for me at the very end of the restaurants street. "Spanish house".
Però venien sangria a preu d'or. I didn't cry. Those who know me will know why. I didn't enter too. But they sold Sangria at the same price I would sell gold.
It was a nice comercial street indeed, full of more or less afordable shops. But there's, of course, another part of Gangnam, called Rodeo, where the really expensive brands have their shops. I didn't think it was necessary to go there because it looksany other expensive street.
The most curious thing was looking at the outfits of the people walking around there. The koreans named the "3 seconds bag" the super-expensive handbags that almost all the girls are carrying. Why "3 seconds bag"? Well, it's because it doesn't matter where you look, you will see one of these handbags every 3 seconds: Louis Vuiton, Prada, Hermes...bla bla bla, and thousands of dollars displayed in handbag-shape anywhere.
And looking backmaybe the Gangnam Style lyrics were not that far of reality. He is just mocking all that people who pretend to be elegant, but that are just people like we are. So it turn out to be that our PSY is a social critic, and not only a singer. And it seems the korean love it, because you can see him everywhere.
Aquí està anunciant algun programa de televisió. Advertising something in the metro station.
Here he is advertising soju (the korean most common alcoholic drink for all ages) (except for children, or at least I hope so) and beer. He is so amusing and cute! Love him (L).
So please, next time you hear Gangnam Style, think that, apart from being funny and fun, it has meaningful lyrics, and an interesting background. More than we could expect from the song no1 around the world.
