Per poder complir amb les meves obligacions com a blogaire (i no per cap altre motiu) em vaig veure forçada a anar a investigar sobre el menjar de carrer. Si una cosa he après dels coreans és que, malgrat que no t'agradin, a vegades has de complir amb certes obligacions. Així que muy a mi pesar, vaig haver d'anar a provar toootes aquestes coses que venen a les parades de carrer, i val a dir que vaig patir molt. Sobretot perquè les volia probar totes i no era qüestió d'acabar amb les existències de tot el carrer, així que vaig patir per contenir-me.

El lloc escollit va ser el carrer comercial Myong-dong prop de casa, sempre ple de guiris com jo i de coreans en busca de noves compres. Les parades estaven repartides al llarg dels carrers, i totes tenien sempre una cua de persones esperant per poder comprar el que oferíen.

No sabeu l'èxit que tenia aquest bon home. Ens vam quedar amb les ganes de menjar aquest panet amb ou, perquè la gent no parava d'acabar-ne les existències (ansiosos).

Mira què ben muntat! I donada la meva recent descoberta inhabilitat per menjar amb palillos amb les mans fredes, admiro aquesta dona. Tenia aquí muntat un xiringuito i anava sopant tan tranquil·lament mentre el marit feia les torradetes amb ous. Molt bé, això em sembla bé!
What a nice plan! I recently discovered my total inhability to eat with chopsticks if my hands are cold, so this woman is my new hero. She was calmly eating her dinner while her husband was selling the egg snak. Like it!
Altres varietats de menjar de carrer són els rebossats, semblants al tempura. N'hi ha de totes menes: gambes, verdures, moniatos, i rollitos d'arròs!

I aquí hi ha una parada que, sembla mentida, però encara no he probat! Les patates fregides (de moniato) són lo més normal que hi trobareu. Tot lo altre són, d'esquerra a dreta, calamars aixafats i assecats, tires gegant de potes de calamar assecades, potes de sípia assecades, potes de pop assecades... i altres coses de peix assecades. I castanyes! Tot plegat fa una mica d'olor a menjar de tortuga, però suposo que deu estar bo. La veritat és que és un snack molt comú a Corea, a tots els supermercats hi ha un apartat de pica-piques com aquests, com si fossin les seves olives i fuet.

All the rest is (from left to right): dried and smashed squid, huge dried octopus legs, dried cuttlefish, squid dried legs... and some other dried fish things. And chestnuts! All together smells like turtle food to me, but I guess it must be good. It looks like a common snack in Korea, because I always find many of these morsels in the supermarkets. We usually eat fuet (a kind of dried and much better salami) and olives.

Mireu quina monada... són una espècie de pancakes que per dins tenen sucre i canyella desfets, molt bons!! Val a dir que un dia en vaig intentar fer a casa i em van sortir un xurro. Però aquí eren uns professionals!

Ja veieu quin artista. També hi havia paradetes on venien una mica de tot: cada un d'aquests... bollitos? estan farcit amb alguna cosa, com curry, bulgogui (carn amb salsa), formatge... molt bons sí senyor.
An artist, isn't he? In other stalls they sell a bit of everything. Inside of each of this buns there is cheese, bulgogi (meat with sauce), curry... very nice ones!
I finalment de postres alguna cosa dolça!
As a dessert something sweet!
No són boles de gelat!! (Tot i que amb aquest temps jo crec que s'aguantarien sense desfer-se...¬¬). Són una espècie de galetes. Quan en compres una, li donen un mazazo amb un martell, la trenquen i te la donen dins una bossa de paper. Original eh? Estava bona, i com a postre va anar molt bé!
They are not ice cream balls! (Although this cold weather in my opinion they wouldn't melt...¬¬)
They are kind of cookies. When you buy one of this cuties, they blow them with a mallet (--') and give it to you inside a paper bag (--').
Per últim també mencionar que totes aquestes parades són "il·legals", és
a dir, que no paguen impostos, però aquí són bastant permisius amb
aquests tipus de coses, i hi ha parades venent tot tipus de coses
repartides per tot Seoul.
Finally I would like to add that all these stalls are "illegal", what means that they don't pay tax. It seems in korea they are really permisive about this, because there are stalls aroung whole Seoul, and they are they every day.
Com a conclusió diré que: m'encantaaaa (L) el menjar de carrer. És com anar de pinxos o de tapes però a -9ºC. Així, a l'emoció de menjar coses rares li pots sumar l'emoció d'anar patinant sobre gel mentres camines.
As a conclusion I'm going to say that I loooove streetfood (L). In Spain we can go eating tapas or pinchos (if you don't know what tapas are, I strongly recommend you to come to Spain/Barcelona next summer) So this of streetfood is like going eating tapas but while walking at -9º. So, to the excitement of eating strange morsels you can add the fact that you can do ice-skating.Ben aviat, més curiositats made in Corea!
